The trick to being consistent isn’t to reply on motivation alone. You need to make it a part of your routine and I’m going to tell you how!
Motivation helps you get started but it never lasts long. Once your motivation fades you need to be disciplined until you create it into a habit.
Now let’s look at your exercise goals. Say you want to lose weight or become more flexible. You need consistency to see results. Now a lot of people tend to be good for the first few weeks then drop off... I’m going to explain how you can keep yourself accountable to achieve your goal and stick with it long term.
When you are at work and you have a meeting with your boss or a client you don’t just cancel do you? You go to the appointment prepared to get the outcome you desire.
Now let’s put that into an exercise mentality. You go to the gym or your exercice class and do your thing right until you’re no longer feeling it or you want to stay home and watch Netflix. I totally get it but how about we change your perspective on the situation. Look at your exercise class as a meeting. You wouldn’t cancel on your boss or client so why cancel on yourself?
You decided to make this change for you to better yourself in some shape or form. So why not priorities yourself as much as you would for your family or work. You can’t pour from a glass half full.
I have a few other tips but I will save them for a later date. For now focus on making your exercise class a meeting instead of an option.
