Frequently  Asked Questions

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes, you do need to book in advance. You can either do this through the Book page on our website or message us directly to receive the direct booking link. If you are a beginner you will be required to do at least one private session or one of our Beginner courses before attending classes on our regular timetable.

What should I expect from my first class?

If you are a beginner you may find yourself feeling a bit sore after your first class. This is completely normal when you try any new form of exercise. Pilates requires certain small muscles to be used that may not have been used in a while. Lots of clients feel better after 2 to 3 classes as their bodies are able to use the intended muscles and relax the other muscles they are not required in certain exercises.

What do I need to wear or bring to class?

  • Comfortable clothes that are semi tight as you need to be able to move freely without getting tangled up in them.

  • We have concert floors in the studio so I provide some thicker base mats however if you have a mat please bring it to place on top.

  • Please bring socks to your class. We have grip socks in the studio if you wish to purchase some.

Grip socks are mandatory for our Reformer classes - there are grip socks available to purchase at the studio.

I have never done Pilates before - What do I do?

Mat Pilates - If you are a beginner you will be required to complete one of our Beginners courses before attending the regular classes. This will enable you to learn the foundations correctly so you are able to get the most out of your classes going forward. If a beginners course is not available - check out our beginner friendly options.

Reformer Pilates - if you do not have prior experience on the reformer you will be required to attend an introduction session. This will enable you to learn the machine, parts and foundations. By attending this intro first you will be able to get the most out of your classes moving forward.

I am pregnant - Can I do Pilates?

Mat Pilates - Yes you can! It is best to start pilates before you are pregnant however if you start during your pregnancy please consult your doctor before starting. Depending on what trimester you are will depend on what exercises are safe for you to preform.

Reformer Pilates - We currently don't offer prenatal reformer sessions.
