Do you practice Self Care?

Where has this year gone!? Last year was basically a write off and this year is just going so fast. Maybe as we get older and most in to routine the days just fold in to one. Ask yourself this - what did you have for breakfast? what did you do over the weekend? Personally I really have to think about both of those questions before answering them.


Our lives are sound a rush now. This is why self care is important. It is so important for you to check in with yourself and do something FOR YOURSELF! Even if that is scrolling on social media uninterrupted or having a shower or even cooking your favourite meal.


It is so important that you do something for yourself at least once a week if not more so you don't just fall into a routine then wake up one day realising your life is gone.


Self care also prevent burn out. Since todays world is so instant its hard to step back. Everything is now online and everyone expects an instant reply. Some days it can be extremely draining.


Do you do anything for yourself throughout your day or once a week?


Here are a few ideas to improve your self care routine

  1. Put your favourite music on

  2. Go for a walk in the fresh air

  3. Catch up with a friend or two

  4. Watch a movie with your family

  5. Attend an exercise class

  6. Have a hot bath or shower (add a drop of essential oils to make your bathroom smell like a spa!)

  7. Put on a face mask (even if it is one from the supermarket)

  8. Skip the cooking and get takeaways

  9. Put some comfy clothes on, grabs some snack and binge some Netflix

  10. Read a book or look at the pretty pictures of the home design magazines

The self care options are never ending and it really does depend on what you enjoy doing for it to be self care.


Here are a few things I have been doing lately to relax.

  1. I make my coffee in my favourite mug

  2. Binge watch some Netflix (The bold type is great!)

  3. Scroll on Pinterest (The aesthetically pleasing photos of home interiors calms me haha)

  4. Have a hot shower (If I'm feeling fancy I put a drop of eucalyptus in while the water is heating up)

  5. Put on a face mask and paint my nails.

That right there is basically my Friday night and it's great!
